Pee In a Cup Kind of Day

Little did my children realize, that they would be supplying me with a catchphrase that will most likely stay with me throughout the rest of my life.  Funny how that happens...

On TUESDAY I was MIA.  I gave all of you fair warning, in that post, that I was headed out for some much needed R & R.  Why did I need some Rest and Relaxation?  Why, that's what I'm about to tell you!

I washed my hands as I came out of the bathroom (door open, because what mother of a 2 year old gets to pee in private?) to find all my children standing in my bedroom.

Before I even reached the door, Sissy exclaims:
"Mom!  You'll never guess what your sons did!"

Yup.  Pretty sure she'd heard me say that to Roon a time or two...

Since Sissy is a bit melodramatic at times, I humored her.  "What did they do?"

"Apparently, they thought that a purple plastic 'betime water' cup made an acceptable toilet.  So, they peed in it!"  (She's 7 1/2)

Ummm, say what now?!  (Normally, hearing something like this, wouldn't have fazed me in the least.  You've heard the expression "the straw that broke the camel's back", right?  Well, since this was shaping up to be the third day in a row of less than desireable behavior, I was at a loss.)

"Yeah. They took turns PEEING IN THE CUP!!!  That we drink BEDTIME WATER out of!"

This led to a very stern discussion about what did and did not make an acceptable receptacle for urine, and other bodily fluids.
Don't worry!  I did keep in mind that we will be making a cross country trip in about a month, and included "water bottles, and such" as part of the "is okay if it's an emergency, and mom and dad say it's okay" category.

And that, my friends, is the definition of a "pee in a cup kind of day".  Not to be confused with a "poo in the pantry" kind of day, (which of course includes coming out in a robe after a shower to find your stark naked 2 year old, standing in the kitchen with a pile of her poo behind her in your pantry) although they are very similar...

Today, I'm linking up with MiMi for her "F Bomb Friday" meme.  If you've come to visit from there, and would like to read a story that does not involve bodily waste, click HERE.  It's a story from early last week, that I meant to link up last Friday, but didn't.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Your daughter cracks me up! Your boys... ha ha ha! I am totally not laughing at you but SERIOUSLY they peed in a cup while in the house with a bathroom probably not too far away. You see, I do not have boys but I swear every single person I know that does has stories like this. Guess you'll be getting a new bedtime water cup hee-hee :)

Sorry you had a pee in the cup day, or days. And I would be tempted to adopt that phrase but i am afraid I would say it in front of my kids and they would take me up on it :)

Oh my. I agree with Myra. The scary part is when we don't find out what a cup was used for.

Thanks for your comment. My daughter makes my bread recipe in a bread machine. She uses half white flour. The way I make it hasn't been tried in a bread maker. And the way I make, I wouldn't offer to company. XD
