Our Journey to Forever- Part 2

I'm just going to jump right into the story, because it will probably be a long one, and then I will reveal the correct answer.
In June 1999, I moved to Rexburg, Idaho to attend Ricks College, where I was majoring in "Pre-Nursing". I went for 2 summer terms, during which I really only ever went on "dates" with my roommate Becky. This was fine, because she was a fun girl to hang out with, and since I was only 18, I was in no hurry to find "Mr. Right". Little did I know, my life was about to change...

There are 3 things I always say in regards to how Roon and I met. The first, is that we met because my tooth broke.

In August, 1999, I attended my first religion class of the semester. For those who don't know, since Ricks is a private LDS school, 1 religion class a semester, is required. I believe the class was a Tuesday/Thursday class, so I guess this would have been Tuesday. I went in, found a seat, and the class progressed without incident. Later that night, as I was eating dinner, my tooth broke. Not so much did it break, as a filling came out. I called a dentist the next day, and the only time he could squeeze me in was the same time I had my religion class on Thursday. If I couldn't do it then, I would have to wait until the following week. I took it.

The following Tuesday, when I reached the classroom, most of the students were seated. I walked to the seat where I had sat the week before, and as I sat down, a girl stopped me, and said that seat was hers. I was very confused. Since when do we have assigned seats? Apparently...since the previous Thursday. I quickly scanned the room for an open seat, but didn't see any. I started to panic a little, thinking I would have to sit on the floor all semester. The girl recognized my uneasiness, and said (which is the second thing I always say in regards to our meeting) "I think there's a seat open next to the guy in the plaid shirt."

I found the seat, asked if it was taken, and sat down. Since there was a wall to my left, I introduced myself to the "guy in the plaid shirt" to my right. "Hi! I'm Sami..." I said. "I'm Roon. Nice to meet you." was his response. You'd think that for such an important moment, I would have heard the Halelujah Chorus, or seen an aura of light surrounding this man, that would one day be the father of my children, but I didn't. Pretty sure he didn't either.

Roon had just returned from a two year LDS mission to the Dominican Republic, and was majoring in "Computer Information Systems". I thought he was pretty cute. Cute enough, at least, that I didn't want to look stupid in front of him. Rather than asking what language they spoke in the D.R., I went home that night and asked my roommates. I went to class the following Thursday, armed with the information that Dominicans spoke Spanish.

We were also in the same ward, although we won't find that out for a while, but this is where this part of the story ends. The correct answer was 4: ALL OF THE ABOVE. Here's how the scoring for this one will work...
If you guessed 1, 2, or 3, you get 1 point. If you guessed 4, you get 3 points, and if you guessed 5 you get 0 points.

Now, remember there was a BONUS QUESTION.  The answer to the bonus question is:
1.  Me-Nursing, Roon-Computer Information Systems.

If you were right, you just earned yourself a point!

The next question is:

How long did it take Roon to ask me out on a date?

  1. He asked me out immediately. We had dinner that night.
  2. About a month. He wanted to make sure I didn't have a boyfriend first.
  3. A whole semester.
  4. He didn't. I asked him out.
You have until June 10th, 8:00 am central time to guess.

Point values and post frequency goes up, as we go along. I will also be throwing in some bonus questions along the way, so if you're behind, you are not necessarily out of the game.

If you want to increase your chances of getting the answer right, BLOG ABOUT MY GAME!!! I will narrow the question down to a 50/50 shot for you.

THIS QUESTION IS NOW CLOSED.  BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR MORE QUESTIONS!
