Monday, as the rest of you probably realize was the 15th. Around here, the 15th is usually a pretty big deal. After dinner was all cleaned up, and the kids were in bed, I went into the kitchen, where Roon was looking ever so sexy wiping off the counter, and simply said "it's November 15th". He responded with an "Oh crap."
THEN he suggested I just skip it this month on account of it being the Holiday season and all.
You know I can't do that!
BUT I also don't want to stress myself out, since I am hosting Christmas for my side of the family this year, and Sissy is turning 8 the day after Christmas, and in our church, that is a BIG deal.
SO...I came up with a compromise.
2 movies (1 November, 1 December), 2 winners, but only one prize PACKAGE for me to assemble.
Many of my readers have already won a Quince Quote package from me, so I thought you all might enjoy a chance to win JUST A MOVIE for once. Wouldn't you?
Here's how it will work:
2 separate quotes will be given. You will answer the same questions, or do the same things for each quote. I will make my spreadsheet (like I always do) for EACH quote.
I will then use random.org to draw winners, starting with the "November" quote.
IF the person who wins the November movie has never won before, they will win the PACKAGE. If they have won before, they will win just the movie.
Then I will draw for December. If the package is left, the winner could win the package, provided that they have never won a Quince Quote before. If they have, I guess I don't have to make another bowl until January...
Regular Quince Quote will resume in January.
Why only 1 chance for a package?
Because December's movie costs more than I normally spend on the winning movie. That's why!
Now onto the fun stuff...
NOVEMBER:
"Well, I don't have any flowers, I wouldn't mind seeing the black underwear, but under the circumstances, I don't think we should move in together."
DECEMBER:
"Fra-gee-lay. That must be Italian."
Here are your chances to win:
1 Entry- Name the movie
1 Entry- Name the character who said the quote.
1 Entry- Name actor/actress who played character
1 Entry- Quote line delivered before or after the quote.
1 Entry- Quote another line from the movie. (This is unlimited! Make me laugh, and get a BONUS entry!)
5 Entries- Blog aout it!
3 Entries- Follow me!
3 Entries- "Like" Symmetry in Motion on Facebook.
You can leave one comment containing all of your guesses for EACH movie if you would like. I'm going to make my spreadsheet anyway, so we may as well simplify things! You can also include the info about your followng, blogging, and "like"ing in that same comment as well.
GOOD LUCK!
Please enter for each movie separately. I am awesome, but let's not test the limits of my awesomeness, okay?
I'll leave this open until TUESDAY , NOVEMBER 23rd, 11:59 pm. central time. I will announce the winner next Wednesday.
Don't forget to sign up for my 12 Days of Christmas swap! It's going to be legen- wait for it... DARY!

November- While you were Sleeping! For some reason we watch this movie every year!!
November- Jack!
November- Bill Pullman. I love that you picked this quote. I just love this movie!
November, line from before- I don't want any flowers from you, I am not wearing black underwear, and I definitely do not want to move in with you, Joe... Jack
Quote another line- "If you fit into my pants I will kill myself." :)
Quote another line - "Talk about it now, he can't kill you in church."
I follow you, thanks for picking of my favorite movies of all time for November. :)
November: While You Were Sleeping (I love it!)
Jack said it.
Jack is played by Bill Pullman.
"I thought you were Joe, Jr." "I get that a lot."
"These potatoes are so creamy...Mary mashed 'em." (And, I don't think this counts as a line, but the part where the kid throws the newspaper and falls down on the follow through is my absolute favorite part!)
I'll be blogging it as soon as I'm done commenting here.
I am a brand new follower.
I like you on Facebook.
Wahoo! I'm crossing my fingers.
While you were sleeping!!!
Jack
or Bill Pullman...he used to be one of my faves. Now I look at him and think...eww, he's kind of old.
December: It isn't Christmas until I watch this one: A Christmas Story!
The character is the Dad, I don't think he has a name.
The Dad is played by Darren McGavin (I've watched this movie too many times...just kidding. That's not possible.)
Mom replies to him, "I think that says 'Fragile.'"
"Don't anybody move! A fuse is out." "Not a finga!" (I watch the movie for those 2 lines.)
Same as above, I'm on my way to blog about it.
I follow you.
I like you. =)
I always loved the line "I'll do it! I'm his mother!" when they are trying to figure out just how bad the pencil accident really was.
I love you but you're a schmutz...or is it a putz??
"HERE! You can have these back too!" That Bacon girl...Ashley Bartlett Bacon.
Why are the lines I rememember the risque ones??? :S
Oh and I can't forget!!....
"Cuz it looks like he's leeaaning." Joe Jr.
LOL!!! I quote that one all the time.
I follow you.
I NEED to like you on FB.
And I love you. Too mushy? Nah.
Actually, this all just sounds incredibly creepy and stalkerish. Haha!
November--"While You Were Sleeping"
(P.S. LOVE this movie!)
November--Jack Callaghan
November:
While You Were Sleeping
Jack Callaghan
Bill Pullman
"I don't want any flowers from you, I am not wearing black underwear, and I definitely don't want to move in with you Joe.."
"I thought you were Joe Jr." "I get that a lot!"
Here's some of my favs:
"Would you want to see Dustin Hoffman save the Alamo?"
"Go ahead and marry her you one-balled ba***ard."
"Hey Pop! Can I give that bottle of Blue Nun you got from Cousin Ornello to my probation officer?"
Knock on door..."Who is it?" "Joe Jr." "I'm not here." "I know that trick!"

November--"Oh! I don't want any flowers from you, I am not wearing black underwear, and I definitely do not want to move in with you, Joe - Jack."
December:
A Christmas Story
Mr. Parker
Darren McGavin
"That must be Italian." "Uh, I think that says Fragile, dear."
Here's a couple of my favs: (Couldn't choose just one)
"Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. My personal preference was for Lux, but I found Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor-heady, but with just a touch of mellow smoothness. Life Buoy, on the other hand...Yecchh!"
"You mundane noodle!"
"My father worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay. It was his true medium, a master."
November--Quotes. Here we go:
"I'd say that she gets under your skin as soon as you meet her. She drives you so nuts you don't know whether to hug her or, or just really arm wrestle her. She would go all the way to Europe just to get a stamp in her passport. I don't know if that amounts to insanity, or just being really, really... likable. "
Jack: It was a lot different from hugging. Hugging's very different. Hugging that involves arms and hands; and leaning is whole bodies moving in like this (leans in) Leaning involves wanting... and accepting. Leaning...
Joe Jr.: Hey Luce! Is this guy bothering you?
Lucy: No, no.
Joe Jr.: Are you sure? Because it looks like he's... leaning.
"Can you give me any reason why I shouldn't marry your brother?"
"And what are you, the Happiness Guru, Jack?"
"Talk about it now, he can't kill you in church. "

Novemeber:
One of my ALL TIME FAVES! While you were sleeping ♥
the Character speaking is Jack Callaghan responding to Lucy (Sandra Bullock) who said, "Oh! I don't want any flowers from you, I am not wearing black underwear, and I definitely do not want to move in with you, Joe"
Jack was played by Bill Pullam
Other fave quotes of mine:
Jack:Maybe if we angle it a little.
Lucy: I think it's wedged.
Jack: Why don't you step back, I'm gonna try an old trick.
Lucy: What's the trick?
Jack: Push it really hard.
Lucy: Ok, push.
Jack: I did.
Lucy:Okay, um. What do you mean by the leaning thing? You mean because he gave me flowers?
Jack: And then you *leaned*
Lucy: And then I leaned.
Jack: Yeah.
Lucy: Okay, how did I lean when I leaned?
Jack: It was a lot different from hugging. Hugging's very different. Hugging that involves arms and hands; and leaning is whole bodies moving in like this...
Jack: . Leaning involves *wanting*... and *accepting*. *Leaning*...
Joe Jr.: Hey Luce! Is this guy bothering you?
Lucy: No, no.
Joe Jr.: Are you sure? Because it looks like he's *leaning.*
Love it! My husband and I joke about leaning all the time thanks to THIS movie!
Ox Callahan: Jesus Christ, Jack, you're running the business.
Jack: That's something I'd like to talk to you about.
Midge Callaghan: Talk about that later ok?
Mary Callaghan: Talk about it now, he can't kill you in church.
Lucy: Doesn't anybody use a phone anymore?
Joe Jr.: I do.
Lucy: I'm not talking about 900 numbers.
Joe Jr.: Who told?
I already follow you & Like you on FB.

Dec- A Christmas story
Oh and now my disclaimer. I actually have both of these movies already... so I really just want your cute prize package. So if, I don't win Nov and the person that does gets the package and I win December-then I would like to just be an honorary winner and you can pick the movie for someone else. And that way still be qualified to win. So, basically I want the package more than the movies as I already have both :)
Dec- Opps, the Dad. Old Man Parker says this line. I was thinking of the lines around it.
Dec- The dad was played by Darren McGAvin
Dec- Line after "I think it says fragile" as said by Mrs. Parker
Dec- Another line: "Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window" LOL love that lamp
Dec- Another line, and probably the most famous "You're gonna shoot your eye out!"
Dec- Another line: "My little brother had not eaten voluntarily in over three years"
Dec- Another line: "My father worked in profanity the way other artists might work in oils or clay. It was his true medium, a master."
don't know why I remember that one, it probably just seemed so shocking to me at the time to think of a father swearing like that
Dec: -Another line: "Deck the halls with brwalls of Holly Fra Ra Ra Ra RA Ra Ra Ra RA"-- not quite sure how to spell that one :)
Nov- another line "You're born into a family. You do not join them like you do the Marines"
Nov- Another line:
Lucy: Doesn't anybody use a phone anymore?
Joe Jr.: I do.
Lucy: I'm not talking about 900 numbers.
Joe Jr.: Who told?
hehe gotta love Joe Jr.
Nov- Another line: "Peter once asked me when I fell in love with Jack. And I told him, "It was while you were sleeping."
Oh and I just read your remark about including it all in the same comment :) That would have made it easier, but hey this way it makes you look so much more popular!
Joe Jr.: O.K., Lucy, it's either me or him!
Lucy: Him.
Joe Jr.: You don't have to answer right away.
LOL Love it!
